Rob was born in Muscatine, Iowa, and adds “but spent all of my school age years in Portland, Oregon. Since then I have been an academic nomad with undergraduate studies at Iowa State University followed by graduate work in the Tri-Institutional MD/PhD Program in New York City. Most recently I completed my post-doctoral fellowship at Penn State in central Pennsylvania.” He is married to Katrina, who is a radiologist and who will join the UNC faculty in August. They have two boys. Rob enjoys hiking, tennis, swimming, indie rock, and adventures with his family.
Rob is excited to be here. He says, “I am looking forward to guiding my own chromatin focused research program at the interface of chemical biology and structural biology. It will be great to be imbedded among groups with such diverse expertise in the Center.”
